Official Bio
Liza Akinyi is a Pan-African Venture Builder and Executive Coach who has spent the last 15 years working at the intersection of leadership, strategy and human dignity across more than 20 African countries.
She has coached 500+ founders, helped mobilise over $100M in capital, and supported 900+ organisations across the continent to fundraise, measure impact and tell their stories. Her signature methodology, Heart + Strategy, is the operating system she developed for African founders making the transition from building a business to leading a company.
Liza is an ICF-ACC Certified Coach, IFC-LPI TPMA Certified Trainer (2026), and faculty at the Institute of Small Business Initiatives at Strathmore Business School. She holds an MBA from Strathmore Business School. She was one of thirteen women who organised My Dress My Choice, the campaign that led to public stripping being recognised in the Constitution of Kenya as a form of violence against women. The team was named Facebook’s Women of the Year 2014.
She lives in Nairobi, Kenya, with her four boys.
